Earlier this week, Austin news station KEYE ran a news story detailing the problem of increased traffic fatalities in Austin. Unfortunately, 2012 saw a 42 percent increase in fatalities compared to 2011. That was the biggest jump among major cities in Texas.
As part of their research, KEYE also identified the most dangerous intersections in Austin, using data from the Texas Department of Transportation. Some might surprise you. The top 5 worst intersections were:
1. Riverside Drive & Pleasant Valley
2. Lamar Blvd. and Parmer Lane
3. Slaughter Lane and Manchaca Road
4. I-35 & Oltorf Street
5. I-35 & Riverside Drive
