Car Wrecks: How Do I Find Out How Much Insurance (“The Limits”) Of The Other Driver

It is often important for car wreck victims to know how much insurance the other driver has  (we call this “the limits” of insurance).  For example, if the victim has a significant amount of medical expenses, knowing the other  driver’s limits can help you decide when to try and settle the case.  If the medical expenses the limits then there is no reason to wait to settle. 

Similarly, if an injured driver has underinsured motorist coverage, knowing the opposing driver’s limits helps the victim know whether the victim needs to put the victim’s underinsured motorist carrier on notice of a claim.
